Volunteers Wanted: Lifesaving Sport Working Group
The Lifesaving Canada is seeking volunteers to apply for two of the Sport Commission's working groups - the Coach & Officials Working Group, and the Technical Working Group. Full descriptions of both groups can be found below!
To apply, please submit a letter of interest indicating your group of choice, along with a resume, to Dave Vaillancourt at dvaillancourt@lifesaving.ca.
Applications must be submitted by October 19, 2025.
Coach and Officials Working Group
Purpose:
To contribute to the development of Lifesaving Sport in Canada with specific focus on programs and activities that support the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) plan.
Skill Set and Knowledge Areas:
- Experience as an athlete, coach, official, or manager in any sport.
- Knowledge of Lifesaving Sport is an asset.
- Knowledge of program development and project delivery is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in both English and French is an asset.
Technical Working Group
Purpose:
To contribute to the research, development, and implementation of technical rules related to Lifesaving Sport in Canada.
Skill Set and Knowledge Areas:
- Experience as an athlete, coach, official, or manager in any sport.
- Knowledge of Lifesaving Sport is an asset.
- Knowledge of technical rules development, standards, or event management is an asset.
- Ability to communicate in both English and French is an asset.
