Lifesaving Sport Scholarship Program

The Lifesaving Sport Scholarship Program supports athletes and officials from Alberta and the Northwest Territories participating in lifesaving sport events. The scholarship may be used for international or national events and helps offset travel, registration, or accommodation costs. There are no restrictions on which events you may attend, provided they involve lifesaving sport. 

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a resident of Alberta or the Northwest Territories
  • Be a member in good standing
  • Be a registered athlete or current official
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the humanitarian mandate of the Society by giving back, and/or a demonstrated financial need.

Preference will be given to those who meet all criteria.

Payment of Award

Four scholarships are available, of up to $500 in value.

Funds may be used to offset a recipient's contribution to toward event participation, including registration, travel, and accommodation during the year 2025.

Payment will be made directly to recipients. If a recipient does not attend any events in 2025, the full scholarship amount must be returned to the Society.
