Volunteers Wanted for Pool Safety Photo Shoot

We're seeking volunteers of all ages and ethnicities to model for some new educational content focusing on pool safety!

Participants will be photographed or filmed either individually or in groups, demonstrating both safe and unsafe behaviours at the pool, such as:

  • Keeping children within arms reach
  • Swimming with a buddy
  • Lifejackets (proper vs improper use and fit)
  • Vigilant vs distracted lifeguard supervision
  • And more!

The shoot will take place on August 12 at the Servus Credit Union Place in St. Albert, and will run from approximately 8:30am - 1:00pm. Read on to learn how you can apply to participate!

Who We're Looking For

We'll need approximately 9-15 volunteers in a wide range of ages:

  • 3 - 5 children, aged approximately eight to ten
  • 2 - 3 toddlers or infants, each accompanied by a parent/caregiver
  • 2 - 3 older adults
  • 2 - 3 teens or young adults

Depending on the safety topic, volunteers may need to be photographed both on the pool deck and in the water.

How to Apply

If you're interested in taking part, please fill out this application form by Thursday, August 7. If you are selected, a Lifesaving Society staff member will be in touch with you by August 8.

Please know that the footage taken during this shoot may be used in materials such as our social media, newsletter, website, and in both physical and digital course materials. We will only use your image/audio if you have explicitly given us your consent to do so, via the above form.
