Next Wave Youth Conference: Presenters Wanted!

Are you passionate about water safety, leadership, and community impact? Do you want to inspire and empower the next generation of aquatic leaders?

The Lifesaving Society AB & NWT branch is partnering with the BC & Yukon branch to bring you the Next Wave Youth Conference, coming May 8 - 10, 2026, in Calgary!

This exciting new event will bring together young leaders, aquatic professionals, and community advocates to explore leadership, innovation, and the future of drowning prevention through three dynamic themes:

  • Diversity & Inclusion: Showcasing how diverse perspectives and creating inclusive spaces for all strengthen our field.
  • Pathways to Leadership: Highlighting the many ways aquatic experience can lead to career and leadership opportunities.
  • Communication & Community: Equipping young leaders with advocacy, influence, and communication skills to engage their communities.

Seeking Conference Panelists!

For the conference, we're seeking dynamic presenters and panelists to lead interactive, hands-on sessions for youth aged 18–30.

We’re looking for sessions that are engaging and offer practical takeaways, such as frameworks, certifications, and skill-building tools, that participants can apply within their own communities.

Whether you bring expertise in aquatics, health, leadership, or community development, we want to hear from you!

Submit your application by November 30 using this form: Call for Workshop Presenters and Panelists

More details about registration, speakers, and conference activities will be shared soon. For now, we invite you to help shape an event that sets the stage for future aquatic leaders to grow, collaborate. and make a lasting impact.
