Join Us For World Drowning Prevention Day 2025

At the Lifesaving Society, we recognize World Drowning Prevention Day as a day to promote change on a local, regional, and national level. It is a day to raise awareness of the importance of drowning prevention, and the need for urgent, collective action to improve water safety and reduce preventable deaths.

How You Can Get Involved!

This year, the World Health Organization announced that the theme for World Drowning Prevention Day 2025 is "Your Story Can Save a Life."

Every story counts. Whether you want to share a creative way that you stay safe around water or a lesson learned from a close call, your story can help to prevent drowning and save lives.

Every Wednesday this summer, we're sharing participant-submitted content that highlights water safety messages to our social media! These submissions can include photos, videos, personal stories, drawings, poems, and more!
