The Lifesaving Society Zone System supports affiliates in the delivery of Lifesaving Society programs and services to the community. The Lifesaving Society Zone System builds a strong network to enhance and support drowning prevention initiatives for all Albertans and Northerners. As the Provincial Sport Organization for competitive lifesaving, Lifesaving Society zones match those of the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation with a ninth zone created for the Northwest Territories.
Benefits of the Zone System include:
accessibility for the public to Lifesaving Society programs and services;
networking and linkage of common needs within each zone (staff, vocational, programming, etc.);
Zone Training Centres; and
alignment and administration of sport opportunities within the province/ territory.
