FundingThe Society works closely with many government departments and established safety and sport organizations and agencies at international, national and provincial / territorial levels. The Lifesaving Society receives funding each year from the Government of Alberta. These funds are awarded through the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation (ASRPWF) and are supported from the Alberta Lottery Fund. The Society realizes the financial strain some Affiliates face on the start-up and on-going development of Lifesaving Sport programs. The government funding the Society receives directly benefits our affiliate members. Funding dollars make possible the development and distribution of Lifesaving Sport program resources, including the Lifesaving Sport Toolkit. Our affiliate members use these resources to start up or further develop their Lifesaving Sport programs. The Lifesaving Society makes our affiliate members aware of government grants for community enhancement or recreational programs by posting them on our website.
